Intro Class the Basics of Wine
Join us for an exploration of the world of wine. This introduction class will review the essentials of evaluating the unique character of wine, tools to describe wine and a comparison of the most popular varieties of today. We will taste and evaluate 8 wines looking at the role of climate, soil and history
Cost $50 (includes 8 wines)
Choice of two dates
Focus on France
Join us as we discover the depth and breadth of all that France has to offer in the world of wine. We will learn why France is regarded globally as the benchmark of quality to which all other wine-producing countries aspire. We will discuss and taste through the most important regions and the corresponding “noble” varietals and learn how most of the grapes we know and love today originated from this historic country.
Cost: $75 (includes 8 wines and Bernard’s small bites)
Focus on Italy
This class confirms why Americans love Italian wines! For many years, Italy has wrestled with France in it’s distinction as the largest exporter of wine to the United States. In this class, we will discover how, in the past two to three decades, Italy has made unparalleled strides in the world of wine. We will taste through 9 of the most popular and interesting Italian white and red wines and learn why this progressive country is so special.
Cost: $75 (includes 9 wines and Bernard’s small bites)
Food and Wine Pairing
This class explores some helpful, basic tips on food and wine pairing. We will learn some general guidelines and the reason why certain pairings work and don’t work but also discover how there’s a lot of room to “play”. This fun and informative class will give you more confidence to trust your instincts when entertaining or choosing from wine lists. Wine and food are meant to complement each other. In this class, we’ll see how to “amp up” your tasting experiences!
Cost: $85 (6 wines, heavy hors d’oeuvres by Bernard)
Graduation Wine Dinner
We will put you to the test with the blind wine tasting table, where you will have to guess the wine variety and the country it came from (these blind wines will be chosen from a previous class) anyone who is able to get 100% of the wines earns a free dinner. After you have finished your blind wine exam we will sit down for a wonderful dinner prepared by Bernard. To match with the 5 courses we will pair 5 wines of “lesser known” varietals from around the world (i.e. Gruner Veltliner, Mourvedre, Primitvo), we will discuss these wines and where they originated. Please feel free to invite spouses, friends and family to your Graduation.
Cost: $95 + tax and tip
